“A couple of years ago I filed for an LLC and experienced the busiest season in my professional art career. Despite the “growth” and “success” I felt incredibly burnt out and overwhelmed, lost and confused, and in search of a new path. I focused so much on expanding and earning income, that I forgot my sole purpose for creating art. I resented my business and no longer felt connected to my work.

I decided at the end of that year, that I would hire a mentor to help me overcome these difficult (yet surprisingly common) feelings as a creative entrepreneur. Before Lauren and I started working together I didn’t understand what it meant to be in seasons of creativity, or even life, and how that would affect my business. Throughout the mentorship experience, Lauren helped me to not only understand myself as an artist, but as a human being. She held space for me to process my thoughts, insecurities, and ideas, which helped me better understand who I am. She saw me and met me exactly where I was. She held space for me as I broke through molds and negative thought processes. By the end of the year, we smashed down walls that prevented me from being my authentic self and helped me gain the confidence I needed to succeed.

Because of Lauren, I am now creating artwork I WANT to create. I have learned when to say yes and when to say no. I have gained tools to help me navigate complicated moments and decisions in my business. But most importantly, I have gained a friend and found a community that truly supports me as a person, which is crucial to the success of being an artist.”

“I’ve started the year lost in my practice and seeking Lauren’s help was the best decision I’ve made so far! With daily questions and a lot of patience, she helped me design a creative practice more aligned with who I am and how I work. Her tailored support and guidance are really precious. I’ve enjoyed her calming and caring presence as a virtual companian in the studio.”

“I’ve always been a seeker of knowledge where learning was at the heart of my studies. I kept all my ideas in a notebook, but it was a jumbled mess. I lacked order and structure, and it complicated my desire to produce much of anything. At some point, I just gave up and became disappointed.

I came across an online class that Lauren had developed and taught, which eventually led me to her Artist Mentorship program. My interest was piqued when I asked Lauren more about mentorship. I printed her summary of what she could offer me, and I began to be hopeful again. I read and underlined all the words that spoke to me. This was when a spark within me started, and I quickly signed up to work with her.

Artist Mentorship gave me a way of working that rebuilt and reinforced my confidence. My ideas that once poured out chaotically into my notebook began to have a shape and form. For the first time in a long while, I felt confident in my abilities. I would ask Lauren questions and she would ask me questions in return that encouraged me to find how I wanted to communicate through my art and writing.  She helped me to connect with myself as I learned how to understand who I was and find my voice. She offered resources that were so helpful in kickstarting my journey on a pathway entirely built for me. Because of Lauren, I felt connected once again to my artistic process, but this time I had an inspirational way of working that propelled me to new discoveries about me and the way I work.”

“After two years of pandemic disruptions, I was feeling frustrated with my inability to hold on to a vision and pursue it with intention. I am easily distracted, which makes holding focus on anything extremely difficult, and I am quite reluctant to ask for help. These two in combination explain much about why I fail to get things accomplished. I felt like I needed a reset — not inspiration, skills, workshops, or other quick-fix ideas, but a way to look objectively at what I want to do and to establish a scaffold to support my work.

I had followed Lauren for quite a while and was always impressed by her thoughtful and reflective approach to how she manages her creative practice. What I appreciate most is how she values creative practice in a thoughtful, reflective way that honors the depth of meaning that our art practices hold in our lives. I decided to invest in a mentorship with Lauren because I felt a true alignment with her approach.

It has been a labor of love to start at the very beginning and look at every part of my creative practice. This artist mentorship allows an artist to explore in great detail how and why to take steps forward through the entire process of creating and marketing meaningful work. It has helped me do necessary reflecting so that I have more clarity on what I need. Lauren has helped me recognize consistencies across many years of making helping me build a process that offers me ongoing support and guidance. I will remember these foundations the next time I experience frustration or lack of direction.

If you are willing to devote the time and energy to consider your creative practice with the support of a knowledgeable and experienced artist in her own right, this is a wise investment. In a market where so many are offering quick fixes in 10 easy steps, this mentorship is a deep dive into the processes that are uniquely your own to ensure a custom fit in understanding how to bring your artistic visions to life.”
